Above and Beyond: Los Angeles Hotel’s Pledge to Fight COVID-19

The Greater Los Angeles Hotel Community is Committed to Health and Safety

As hospitality and tourism undergo unprecedented changes in the wake of COVID-19, the Hotel Association of Los Angeles and its members are working to ensure all hotels have the resources, information, and support they need to protect the well-being of employees and guests.

We work closely with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the California Department of Public Health, Cal/OSHA, the Governor’s Office of Emergency Services and the County of Los Angeles Department of Public Health to develop health and safety standards that exceed any other industry. Our Clean and Safe Guidelines were issued April 30, 2020, almost two months before Los Angeles was allowed to reopen hotels for leisure travel. The hotel standards include:

  • Customized COVID-19 plans for hotels

  • Employee safety training in English & Spanish

  • Clear and appropriate social distancing signage

  • Distribution of free personal protective equipment for employees

  • Cleaning directions that keep employees and guests safe

Our partnerships and affiliations with hotel brands and owners, with health and cleaning experts and with elected and regulatory leaders provide our hotel community with the most up-to-date best practices and current compliance requirements. HALA continues to work with these organizations and others to combat coronavirus:
