LA Hotels Hire Event Helps Job Seekers Launch Hospitality Careers

Hotel associations connect employers with work-ready candidates at in-person career fair.

LOS ANGELES – May 18, 2023 – Today, hundreds of job seekers, including local college students and recent grads, had the opportunity to meet with 22 hotel employers at the JW Marriott LA Live for the Los Angeles Hotels Hire Career Fair. Attendees had the chance to network with some of the top hospitality employers in the county and learn about the industry’s diverse selection of well-paying jobs, excellent benefits and opportunities for career advancement.

Hosted by the Hotel Association of Los Angeles (HALA), the California Hotel and Lodging Association (CHLA), and the American Hotel and Lodging Association (AHLA) Foundation, the event connected job seekers with the many positions open in Los Angeles hotels. The summer season is especially important for LA hotels as they welcome guests to our beaches, mountains, diverse culinary experience, and iconic hotels.

“Los Angeles – like many other cities throughout the country – has a workforce shortage,” said HALA President and CEO Heather Rozman. “Through this event, we were able to bring individuals who are ready to take the next step in their careers into the hotel industry – with competitive wages, excellent health and retirement benefits, and even extra perks like free hotel rooms anywhere in the world!

Opportunities in the hospitality and leisure sector continue to grow. From March 2022 to March 2023, leisure and hospitality employment in Los Angeles had the most significant percentage gain of all local sectors at 8.2 percent, adding 40,500 jobs.

Job seekers at the event had the opportunity to engage in one-on-one conversations with recruiters and hiring managers, interviewed and even received conditional offers in some instances.
